    Put the safety of your Arabians against a bull moose just for a video… not too smart !

    • @EnduranceHorseMT
      @EnduranceHorseMT Год назад

      Read caption, we did not see the moose till after. Also, can neither watch them 24x7 or keep them locked in 24x7. I'm sure they see all sorts of wildlife when we are not around, we also have bears, mountain lions and coyotes. These animals don't typically go after healthy grown horses.

      The fastest horses are faster than a moose on dry land, but these horses are short! They can go 50-100 miles in a day in an endurance ride but would lose to moose and other horses in a short speed race :) We try to stay away from moose.

      Sorry, just now saw this question. Yes, absolutely - we have been doing that every year for several years and have had no issues with debris getting into the boots through the holes! Sometimes the holes themselves pack with grit and plug the holes but nothing in the boots. Works great!

    What a gorgeous place to train... and having such a well behaved fit dog to train with makes it even better! Question, I'm new to boots, and saw one of them only wears hinds. I've never seen that, could you explain it a little?

    • @EnduranceHorseMT
      @EnduranceHorseMT 2 года назад

      Hi Kelly, thank you, very observant :) He actually normally wears front boots too but he had blown an abscess on his heel so we left them off that day. Both of these horses have great feet and can go barefoot but we do pretty high mileage. This ride had a lot of gravel and we ended up slowing down at the end as he was getting a little tender on front....we were happy to get boots back on for the next ride! Horses quite often go with just front boots but for those doing a long or fast miles I recommend using all four, otherwise they can end up compensating with the fronts because backs are tender, and that can throw a lot of things off. They may not exhibit lameness but when backs are added they will find another gear :)
